Objectives and Functions

The IKS Cell is designed to align with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by promoting Indian Knowledge Systems in education and research. Its key functions include:


  1. Facilitating Interdisciplinary Work: Coordinating IKS-based research and activities among faculties, trainees, and societal organizations.

  2. Establishing Research Groups: Guiding subject-wise interdisciplinary research groups comprising faculty and trainees.

  3. Promoting Awareness: Creating schemes to popularize IKS and its relevance in modern contexts.

  4. Policy Recommendations: Advocating policies to promote IKS integration in education and societal applications.



Expected Outcomes
